Specialized's Diverge Comp E5 has been designed ready to tackle any trail adventure, no matter the terrain. From smooth roads to bumpy gravel trails, the Diverge has got it covered. Starting with Specialized's Premium E5 Aluminum frame that's both comfortable and durable provides you with a reliable base to take out on the trails. The geometry of the Diverge has been designed to feel like a road version of a modern trail bike, providing responsive handling yet still predictive steering so that you can perform as many dirt skids or mid-corner drifts as you like whilst maintaining control. This new Diverge features a bottom bracket that's half-centimetre lower than the previous Diverge as well as a slacked-out head tube angle, shortened chainstays and a shorter wheelbase to make for a bike that performs equally as well on both the tarmac as it does on the gravel. Equipped with a full Shimano 105 11-speed groupset to ensure you have reliable and swift shifting all year round, keeping your performance at it's best. The Diverge Comp E5 has also been fitted with hydraulic disc brakes for smooth and durable braking in all weather conditions, keeping you in control no matter what. Finally, the Diverge features Axis Sport Disc wheels that are coated in Specialized's fast-rolling, 35mm Roadsport tyres with built-in flat protection to ensure all your needs are met out on your ride.
You can think of the Diverge's geometry as a road version of a modern trail bike. It provides playful handling and predictable steering for endless dirt skids and mid-corner drifts, but keeps stiffness up to snuff for your inner-racer. Along with a bottom bracket that's over a half-centimetre lower than the previous Diverge, we also slacked-out the head tube angle, shortened the chainstays, and made a shorter wheelbase. The result? A bike that performs equally well over both the dirt and road.
Everything You Need
The Diverge has everything you need for pretty much any pedal-powered adventure—whether it's gravel racing, bikepacking, or weekend shredding. Our Premium E5 Aluminum frameset features our comfortable and confident Open Road Geometry, making it the ultimate tool for your next ride.
There's only so much that wider tires with lower pressures can absorb when it comes to bumps, but this is where Specialized's Future Shock comes into play. It not only soaks up bumps with ease, but it also adds the benefit of extremely predictable handling. That's because the wheelbase isn't lengthening when you hit a bump, so when you dive hard into a turn, you won't be surprised by under-steer or sloppy handling. The Diverge's version also gets a special treatment featuring a progressive spring that makes this technology more suitable for off-road applications, where stiffer suspension is often needed to soak-up larger bumps and obstacles.
