Specialized Diverge Elite E5 Disc Gravel Bike

The brand new Diverge has been designed by Specailized to be both fun and fast on trail and tarmac terrain alike. Created with a playful handling style, the new Diverge is ideal for making a quick escape onto the South Downs Way, taking some time away from the hussle and bussle of your busy town/city centre. Not only is the Diverge created to make fast work of the gravel paths, it's been created for speed along the road as well with a new design to completely transform the geometry of the Diverge Elite E5. Specailized decided to give the Diverge drop bars for a more stable base riding through the dirt whilst allowing for a more nimble and responsive feel on the road with an increased reach, slacker head tube and longer fork offset. These new features combine to create a more confident overall riding feel and experience. Specialized has also ensured stability was maintained with a low bottom bracket whilst still being high enough to fit 650b wheels if you'd prefer. Featuring a Diverge E5 Premium Aluminum frame along with a full carbon Fork, the Diverege provides you with a reliable base that comfortable to ride all day long. Finally, the Diverege Elite E5 has been fitted with a Shimano GRX RX400 groupset for quick and swift shifting along with hydraulic disc brakes that enhance your control on wet and windy days.

The Diverge

Whether your goal is to escape on gravel back roads, far from cars and crowds, toe the start line at your first gravel race, or simply get the most versatile bike on the road or dirt, no bike is better than the new Diverge. It’s quite simply the fastest, most capable - and just maybe the most fun – alloy bike Specialized have ever made, delivering a ride that’s quick and lively, but stable and confidence inspiring when the terrain gets rough. With all-new gravel geometry and category leading tyre clearance, the new Diverge represents everything Specialized has learned over more than 40 years of riding road, gravel and dirt. The Diverge writes an entirely new chapter in the gravel bike category, so you can dream up entirely new rides. It’s the ultimate getaway vehicle.

Elite E5 Frame

The Diverge Elite E5 utilizes Specialized's premium E5 alloy frame and a full carbon FACT fork for a fast, confident and comfortable ride on road, in the dirt, and over thick gravel. Shimano’s gravel inspired GRX 400 group shifts 2x10 gears smoothly on any terrain and Axis Elite alloy wheels with Road Sport 35mm tyres provide an efficient ride on pavement with the versatility for hard pack dirt riding. Specialized's Premium E5 Aluminum frame provides a stiff, light, and durable platform. When mated to Specialized's full carbon FACT fork, the Diverge Elite E5 becomes a light, lively and versatile bike ready to attack any surface.

Specailized tossed gravel geometry ‘status-quo’ out the window. The new Diverge has the most progressive geometry Specialized has ever created for a drop bar bike, giving riders a capable and stable bike in the dirt, that still feels responsive and nimble on the road. Specailized have increased the frame’s reach, introduced a slacker head tube and a longer offset fork. All this creates incredible confidence with a planted feeling in the dirt, while spec’ing shorter stems keeps the overall cockpit length the same and the steering lively. Specialized has kept the bike’s BB low to increase stability, but high enough to utilize with 650b wheels if that’s your jam.
