Specialized Tarmac Disc Comp Ultegra DI2 Road Bike

Specialized has once again found ways to improve the super speedy and lightweight Tarmac road bike. Through constant research, the aerodynamics of the Tarmac has been improved without increasing the weight to make you faster out on the road. To achieve this, Specialized has added three brand new aero features which add up to be approximately 45 seconds faster over 40 kilometres whilst also reducing the overall weight of the bike by 20%. With a new fork design, a D-shaped seatpost and seat tube, as well as dropped seatstays with aero tubes, the Tarmac is faster than ever before. Specialized has also used advanced aerospace composite optimisation software to improve the design and layup for a brand new FACT 9r Carbon frame. To make this Tarmac even better, the disc comp has included Shimano Ultegra Di2 electronic shifting for smooth and graceful shifting to maximise your comfort along with the fan-favourite Power saddle.

FEATURES

TECHNOLOGIES

Aerodynamics is the most important tool to making you faster but it normally results in added weight, however with the Tarmac, Specialized added aero features without any cost to weight. Through development, three areas were discovered where Specialized could add aero for free—a new fork shape, dropped seatstays with aero tubes, and a D-shaped seatpost and seat tube. The result? A Tarmac that’s approximately 45 seconds faster over 40 kilometers.

Frame

For the construction of the Tarmac, Specialized utilized advanced aerospace composite optimisation software to revolutionise the construction and layup of our new FACT 9r carbon.

Geometry

Updated geometry based on countless Retül data points and professional rider input enabled Specialized to develop a Performance Road Geometry that perfects the combination of a responsive front-end and short wheelbase, which delivers instantaneous response and optimal power transfer.
