Are you ready for Specialized's new and improved Tarmac Disc Expert? This brand-new model is now quicker than ever before, anywhere, from long climbs to strong headwind stretches or a grand tour stage to a local club event, the SL6 frame does it all faster than the SL5 of yesteryear. Saving you a whopping 45 seconds over a 40 kilometer stretch as well as being 20% lighter thanks to the latest, industry-leading, engineering. This includes a brand new fork shape, dropped seat stays with aero tubes and a D-shaped seat post and seat tube, which all boost the aerodynamics of the Tarmac. To help you get the best out of your riding, Specialized has changed the geometry using Retül data points along with input from professional riders so no matter what frame size you ride you still benefit from the same great features. Roval's C38 carbon disc wheelset further improves the aerodynamic gains of the Tarmac whilst also lowering the overall build weight. Specialized has included Shimano's 8070 Ultegra Di2 disc groupset to provide effortless, futuristic gear-shifting and our staff and customer favourite body geometry Power Expert saddle. So get ready to smash your next hill climb, sportive or crit race PB!
Aerodynamics is the most important tool to making you faster but it normally results in added weight, however with the Tarmac, Specialized added aero features without any cost to weight. Through development, three areas were discovered where Specialized could add aero for free - a new fork shape dropped seatstays with aero tubes, and a D-shaped seat post and seat tube. The result? A Tarmac that’s approximately 45 seconds faster over 40 kilometres.
For the construction of the Tarmac, Specialized utilised advanced aerospace composite optimisation software to revolutionize the construction and layup of their new FACT 10r carbon. It's the most schedule, Specialized has ever made and this allowed them to shed nearly 200 grams on the new Tarmac frame. That's right, a 20% reduction in frame weight - the perfect recipe for your next hill climb PR.
Updated geometry based on countless Retül data points and professional rider input enabled Specialized to develop a performance road geometry that perfects the combination of a responsive front-end and short wheelbase, which delivers a instantaneous response and optimises power transfer.
