The SB115 takes over from the ASR of yesteryear. Whilst the ASR was more closely designed in line with XC competing, the SB115 finds a fine blend between riding on the trail and the XC course. This bike comes into its own providing uphill efficiency and downhill speed, with handling that's tight enough to deal with the most technical descent. Yeti re-designed their renowned Switch Infinity technology specifically for the SB115 to make it more compact, without comprising on performance or changing the feel of the bike, meaning there's more space to fit in a water bottle cage and ensure you can last out in the sticks for hours. 130mm of comfort-orientated shock is provided through Fox's performance fork and Maxxis Minion and Aggressor tyres provide traction that clings to the trail. Finally, Shimano's SLX groupset offers smooth 1x12 shifting that takes the nonsense out of using a front derailleur but still offers a big enough range to help you up sharp ascents and race downhill.
TECHNOLOGIES
Re-engineered Switch Infinity
The Switch Infinity was re-designed specifically for 115mm of travel, it's lighter, smaller and tucks neatly behind the seat tube. Pretty rad. There is no performance difference between this and the other switch mechanism. The SB115 switch utilises the same proven FOX Racing bushings, seals, and Kashima stanchions as the switch found on other models.
Trail-tuned to XC races
Genre killing geometry. Inspired by going fast downhill, but balanced to provide uphill efficiency. The SB115 blurs the lines between XC and Trail. A longer front centre with shorter chainstays and a slacker head angle find the right combination of up and down. This design also allows for an uninterrupted seat post, to fit a longer dropper. Plus it looks killer.
Hydration is Key
It took considerable effort to accommodate a bottle, optimise stand-over and meet kinematic expectations, but Yeti knew it was important to you. The water bottle now fits comfortably inside the front triangle, where you might be used to looking for it without affecting the suspension system or the geometry of the bike.
Smooth Performing Integration
The SB115 employs an integrated headset which allows for a lower overall stack height and cleaner carbon layup. The cleaner carbon layup means there are no aluminium inserts and less material in the headset juncture. This all leads to a lighter, stronger front triangle.
